Our Program Provides:
Opportunities to participate in field trips to interesting and educational
places:
* Dillons Nature Center
* Local fire station
* Cosmosphere
* Dillons Grocery Store
* Local Library
* Carey Zoo
* Many other interesting discovery points
Seasonal Events such as the Harvest Party - where children learn about
the value of our local farmers and their contribution to our community,
are designed to help children interact with their cultural values and traditions.
Our Environment :
We have a variety of materials: recycled and natural items, commercial
and real life (i.e. adult sized pots/pans, dishes, clothing). You will see
materials that are organized according to function, size, color and shape.
Our materials are enabling children to locate and return items to their
original location. Each classroom has at least four defined areas (art,
language/math/science, block, drama). Other interest areas may be combined
in these four areas or, if space is available, there will be additional
interest areas (construction, games, music, computer... to name a few).
It is our desire to make the aesthetics of the classroom not only beautiful
but home-like in environment through natural colors and lighting to
reflect items that represent the community of children, families and staff.
Our Daily Routine:
We provide a balance of small and large groups, time to be alone, time
for children to interact, time for children and adults to engage in meaningful
dialogue. A balance of inside and outside explorations are provided.
Our flexible routine is based on the emerging needs and interests
of the children.
